NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 1 also introduces us to the concept of magnetism, which is the same thing. Gold leaf experiment, Electroscopes, to test the polarity of an electrically charged body, and the lines of the magnetic field, which is produced by the electricity. Distribution of charges, Coulomb’s law of charge calculation between two bodies, Gauss’s law to calculate the electric flux, etc. Further study into this topic has been given in the following chapters.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 2 Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance

This chapter explains to us the concept of potential energy in the world of electricity and quantum level. Why charges move, why they behave as they do, and how potential energy gets converted to kinetic energy. Topics like The Law of conservation of energy are discussed in detailed manner in Class 12 NCERT Chapter 2. Conservative forces and non-conservative forces, Coulombic force of attraction or repulsion, how we can store this energy into devices so that we can use it later, electrostatic fields, polarization and dipole electric moment, etc.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 3 Current Electricity

This chapter explains to us why electrons move and what causes them to move. Natural electric occurrences, lightning, thunderstorms, and basic laws governing the realm of small particles like electrons and atoms. To understand Ohm’s law of resistance, the concept of resistance, conductance, limitations of ohm’s law, students have to read the NCERT Physics Chapter 3 well. The resistivity of various materials, and how resistance depends upon the variations of temperature. The concept of power, work done, electric energy, voltage, current, series and parallel combinations of resistors, etc. are discussed in this chapter.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 4 Moving Charges and Magnetism

This lesson explains how electricity gives rise to the concept of magnetism, why they are both the same thing, current-carrying conductor, Lorentz force, Motion in a magnetic field are some of the concepts that are important in NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 4. How the combination of both electric and magnetic fields affects the motion of a charged particle, etc. Cyclotron, Biot-Savart’s Law, current in a loop, Ampere’s Circuital Law, Solenoid, etc. can be read here.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 5 Magnetism And Matter

This chapter explains the origin of the phenomena of magnetism, magnetic field lines, bar magnets, horseshoe magnets, bar magnet equivalent solenoid, working and the principle behind the compass, Chapter 5 Class 12 Physics has good information about dipole in a uniform magnetic field, the electrostatic analog, Magnetism, and Gauss’s law, properties and causes of earth’s magnetism, how it helps us determine the directions, magnetic north and true north, Magnetic declination and dip, Magnetic Intensity, Magnetic Properties of Materials, Dia, Para, Ferro Magnetism, Permanent and Electromagnets and problems regarding these topics are given at the end of this chapter.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 6 Electromagnetic Induction

Electromagnetic induction is the phenomenon of the arousal of charged particles in a nearby conducting substance that is placed near an electromagnet. Physics Chapter 6 Class 12 Introduces us about one of the basic founding blocks of the electrical industry, AC motor, Transformer, AC to DC converting equipment, and present-day wireless electrical energy transfer technologies, all are based on this principle at their core.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 7 Alternating Current

We’re taught that electricity has two polarities. Positive and negative and they are connected and those charges travel through different wires. In the case of AC,  Class 12 Physics Chapter 7 Alternating Current, the positive and negative half-cycles are alternatively vibrated or change at certain times per second. This is AC frequency. It has many advantages over DC. AC requires far less equipment and suffers very minimal losses in transportation. Back in the day, there was a war of currents between the electrical genius Nikola Tesla and the Scientific and Entrepreneur mind behind the light bulb, Thomas Alva Edison. Eventually, AC won the war.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 8 Electromagnetic Waves

James Clark Maxwell has discovered the secret of Electromagnetic waves. Till then, Newton’s corpuscular theory and Hygen’s wave theory were accepted by the community. They both describe the matter and its properties in their terms but wouldn’t mix. NCERT Physics Class 12 Chapter 8 describes how Maxwell has unified this both and taught the world that matter has both particle and wave properties simultaneously. All the light we see, VIBGYOR, X-Rays, Gamma Rays, Infrared, Radio Waves, all come under one umbrella and are altogether called electromagnetic waves. Because they are produced and Propagated through medium electrical and Magnetic fields oscillating perpendicular to each other.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 9 Ray Optics and Optical Instruments

This chapter goes a little deeper from what has been taught in the previous academic years, like refraction, reflection, Dispersion of light, How  Total Internal Reflection works are discussed in Class 12 NCERT Physics Chapter 9, along with Interference, Fiber optic cables, Superposition, Polarization of light, Diffraction. We will also learn how rainbows are formed, those beautiful colors, etc.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 10 Wave Optics

In this NCERT Physics Chapter 10 ,we learn and discuss the properties of light in terms of considering them as waves. Huygens made a significant contribution to this field of wave properties of light. We discuss and verify the phenomena of reflection, refraction, and rarefaction, with the help of the principles proposed by this scientist. We finally will conclude that light acts as transverse waves, of the category electromagnetic radiation.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 11 Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter

Every element, when burnt in the fire, emits electromagnetic radiation of a certain frequency. This phenomenon of the matter is used in spectroscopy, radio astronomy, and to estimate the composition of different stars and planets from the earth itself. NCERT Physics Class 12 Chapter 11 also introduces us to Cathode ray tube, J J Thompson, Rutherford’s alpha ray scattering experiment, all about fundamental constituents of the matter are discussed in this unit.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 12 Atoms

Rutherford bombarded the gold nucleus with a stream of alpha radiation, to see and estimate the properties of matter. From his calculations, it was found that an atom is a mostly space, only 0.1% will be occupied by the nucleus, electrons, and all the stuff that makes it are discussed in Class 12 Physics NCERT Chapter 12. This experiment has shed light on some of the most important milestones in the development of atomic theory and knowledge.

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 13 Nuclei

NCERT Class 12 Physics Chapter 13 discusses the components and basic particles in the nucleus such as positively charged protons and no charge neutrons, sizes, and influence of it on the electrons, this model and most of the knowledge of our current understanding of the atomic model come from Neels Bohr Model, energy levels, Pauli exclusion principle, Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle.
